subject  About the scam check

Hi Jay,

I was googling my name and found your site about a scam for guitar lessons. This is the 2nd check written over my account and luckily by the time this check was fabricated, I had my account closed. However, the name and the address written on the check on this site http://masterguitar.com/Scam/markciardi.htm is current and I feel a little uncomfortable having my address and name being in public and associated with a scam. Could you kindly remove my personal info (maybe you can scratch the name and part of the address?)

Thanks for your concern and sorry you had to deal with these scammers.

Best regards,
B---------

          Re: About the scam check

--------,

I believe you. I have therefore complied with your request. I suggest you revisit the page in question and let me know if you are satisfied. If I may, a few questions; Did this scammer obtain your identity? Is the account number on the check the real account number? Did you lose any money as a result of this episode?

Yours,
Jay

       Re: About the scam check

Hi Jay, this looks good, thanks for taking care of it.

All the info on the check was correct, except for the zipcode (which belonged to my older address). The account number and everything is correct too. I had one fraud check of $4000 about 2 months ago. Because the check looked suspicious (the signature was not mine and the check was a homemade kind), my bank called me and put a hold on my account. The people in the bank said they have seen a lot of these lately and they are always cautious about it. Initially I was only going to transfer my account but they suggested to completely close it. Now I am glad I did it! I knew someone wrote a check for $2000 again because I got an insufficient fund mail. Thankfully I didn't lose any money but could have if it weren't for my bank's precaution.

I have no idea how they got a hold of my account number, address etc.. I don't write checks very often but do shop online a lot but usually use Paypal.

Please keep up the good work and continue exposing these scammers.

best,
